International Food Festival
The signature event for the Islamic Center of Evansville is the International Food Festival held annually on the first Sunday in October. The festival has grown from its humble origins at the former masjid (on the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Willow Road in Evansville) to an event drawing nearly 1000 guests in 2022. The daylong event draws the community in for delicious international food, all made by the women of the Islamic Society of Evansville. Cookbooks are for sale which include recipes for the amazing food sold the day of the event. There is also an ethnic bazaar offering clothing, jewelry and home decor, as well as a henna hand tattoo booth and a calligraphy booth. Tours of the masjid are offered, and free Qurans are available (while supplies last). A portion of the day’s proceeds are donated to the Tri-State Food Bank as a way of giving back and being a good neighbor within our southern Indiana community. The entire masjid community (including women, men, and children) comes together to host the event, and takes great pride in showcasing the masjid’s beautiful building and grounds, and offering welcoming fellowship to our neighbors. Aside from a hiatus over the course of the COVID pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the event has been held annually every year since its inception in 2002. The event was initiated to show gratitude and appreciation for the Evansville community’s support following the trying aftermath of the tragic events of 9/11/2001. The masjid opened its doors and heart to welcome the community and offer guests a glimpse inside the masjid walls as well as promote the true teachings of Islam.

Youth Activities
Alhamdolillah, as of August 2022, the Islamic Society of Evansville has hired a Youth Director (Humaad Khan) to conduct structured Islamic activities for the benefit of our youth. We are looking forward to bringing together our community's next generation through youth halaqas and athletic activities so that insha'Allah, all of us may enjoy a close connection with our masjid, our Holy Qur'an, and most importantly, with our Creator Allah وَتَعَالَىٰ سُبْحَانَهُ May He unify each and every one of us with afiyah Ameen.
